Wife's Search for ex-FBI Agent, Missing Since March in Iran, Comes Up Empty

The students at Columbia University had various questions -- and plenty of applause -- for Iranian Dictator Mahmoud Ahmadinejad when he spoke on campus on September 24, 2007.  But none of them asked A-Jad about Robert Levinson, a retired FBI agent who has been missing in Iran since March 2007.

Reuters reports on December 22, 2007 that Levinson's wife, Christine, has come up with no answers during a four-day visit to the Islamic state in search of her husband.

"We still don't know where Bob is and the nightmare I and my family are experiencing will continue," Mrs. Levinson told Reuters.

Mrs. Levinson had to arrange for her investigative visit through the Swiss embassy, since America does not have diplomatic ties with Iran.

Meanwhile, according to Bnai Haman, the three academics who invited Ahmadinejad to campus -- Lee C. BollingerJohn H. Coatsworth and Richard W. Bulliet -- are preparing to enjoy the Christmas holiday surrounded by family and friends in the comfort of their New York homes.

Bollinger, Coatsworth and Bulliet have shown no public remorse for the Levinson family's predicament, preferring to bask in what they feel is the glow of having gained so much worldwide attention for providing A-Jad a forum at Columbia.

Likewise, the Board of Trustees of Columbia University, 23 allegedly distinguished men and women (not counting Bollinger) also remain a.w.o.l. in speaking out against Iranian oppression and the anti-gay, anti-women, anti-Semetic, anti-American rhetoric of A-Jad, according to Bnai Haman.
